Στο κρεβάτι με το βιβλίο μου

Το βράδυ, όταν δεν έχω ύπνο, ξέρω τι να κάνω. Δεν πάω στο σαλόνι, γιατί δε βλέπω τηλεόραση, δε μιλάω στο τηλέφωνο, ούτε ακούω αργή μουσική σε βινύλιο. Δεν πάω στο μπαλκόνι γιατί δε μετράω αστέρια τη νύχτα ούτε ακούω τα τζιτζίκια ή τον αέρα που μπαινοβγαίνει στο γρασίδι. Δεν πάω στην κουζίνα γιατί δεν πίνω γάλα ούτε τρώω το βράδυ. Δε βγαίνω έξω γιατί δεν πάω σε μπαρ ή σε κλαμπ, αλλά μένω μέσα. Μπαίνω στην κρεβατοκάμαρα και παίρνω το βιβλίο που γράφω. Διαβάζω τον πρόλογο – για έμπνευση – και πάω μια βόλτα στη φαντασία μου. Θέλω να ακούω τον ήχο που κάνει η πένα όταν γράφω, και να βλέπω κάθε γράμμα να αρχίζει τη ζωή του μέσα στο βιβλίο μου. Καληνύχτα.

In bed with my book

In the evening, when can’t sleep I know what to do. I don’t go to the living room, because I don’t watch TV, I don’t speak on the telephone, nor do I listen to slow music on vinyl. I don’t go to the balcony because I don’t count stars at night, nor do I listen to the crickets, or the wind that goes in and out the grass. I don’t go to the kitchen because I don’t drink milk, nor do I eat at night. I don’t go out, because I don’t go to bars or clubs, but I stay in. I go into the bedroom, and I take the book that I’m writing. I read the prologue – for inspiration – and I go for a walk into my imagination. I want to listen to the sound that the ink pen makes when I’m writing, and see every letter begin its life inside my book. Goodnight.
